The following characteristic letter from the Duke of Wellington, was
a reply to a request from the Corporation of Waterford to present a petition against the Irish Municipal Bill- " London, 18ilt May 18,0, "The Duke of Wellington presents his compliments to Mr. lioleson, anti has received his letter.
"'rite Duke at Wellington has found himself under the necessity of de- dining to present petitions to the House of Lords front an individual till whom, or a body of whieh, he has no knowledge. Ile has no relation with the city of Waterford; and he begs leave to decline to present the petition in quest ion."
