"SKIVERS."
[To ran Maws or sus "Sszcsiscat."3 Sra,—In my boyhood I spent a twelvemonth in the book- binding trade, and in that trade my father has spent his whole life. In my experience " ;skivers " were constantly used, being thin sheepskins, dyed various colours, used for common work such as tradesmen's parcels books. I have just as a test walked into a leather manufacturer's shop in London, and upon asking for a specimen of "skiver," a skin was immediately produced, and the enclosed piece out off and handed to me. I shrewdly suspect that that volume so beloved of the legal profession, known as The Law List, is bound in " skiver."—I am, Sir, &c.,
