We have received the first number of a reissue of
The New English Dictionary (The Oxford University Press, 3s. 6c1.) These numbers are to be issued monthly. It is calculated that half of the whole work will be completed by the end of the cen- tury, and that the other half (Vols. VI.-X.) will have appeared by the close of the year 1909. Already one hundred and thirty-six thousand two hundred and one words have been treated, and this without concluding the letters "G, H, I," which are now being issued simultaneously. The undertaking, which we have often had occasion to notice during its progress, is so important and so admirably carried out, that we give the widest publicity that we can to the new arrangements. The edition in monthly parts which begins with July will cost between £18 and £19 unbound (discount being allowed). But a purchaser who pays down .£17 net cash will have the whole work delivered, as to that which has already appeared, at once, and as to the f Aare, in volumes (half- morocco) as they are completed. Any person who possesses what has already been published can obtain the remainder for £9 10s. This offer holds good to the end of the current year. We may also mention the appearance of the usual monthly part of the Dictionary completing the letter "H."
