be a pleasant alterative to the romantic fictions amongst which they appear. Some of them, as "The Life and Melancholy Fate of La Perouse,' " "The Mutiny of the 'Bounty,'" are well known. Others, as the "Adventures of Pietro Quirini," are comparatively fresh.
