Sus,—It may interest " Africander " (Spectator, April 10th) to know that some time ago I raised the question of " officer& wives' pensions," both in the Press and at headquarters, urging that at least Income Tax on their slender pensions should be remitted as a matter of eqnity. Mr. Boner Law wrote quite sympathetically, promising careful consideration, but was unable to forestall the Report of his Committee, which we all hope will not be ranch longer delayed.—I am, Sir, &c., X.
