"BRITON" AND "BRITISHER."

[To THE EDITOR or TEE "SPBOTAT03."i suggest that " Britisher," ugly and incorrect as an English word, is merely the inoffensive German "Britischer," and that it has come to us through the American, and possibly vici the Colonial, Press, from the German-Americans. I hope we may banish it, though unfortunately it is now officially used in the highest quarters.—I am, Sir, &c., H.
