For many years he was a regular writer of leading
articles in the Bpectator, and for many years also he wrote in the Economist. After his rupture with the Guardian his friends helped to start a new paper ealled the Pilot, which lived for four ror five years. There could not have been a greater tribute to the extraordinary esteem in which Mr. Lathbury was held than .the fact that many of his driends contributed -money to a losing concern, although they. disagreed with Mr.
