In the Town-Council of Edinburgh, on Tuesday last, a letter
from Mr. Irving, clerk to the trustees for the city creditors, was read, en- closing copies of memorials laid before Counsel respecting the eight 4f the Duke of Buccleuch to build a harbour at Granton, with dte opinion of counsel thereon. The counsel (Messrs. Hope, Ruther- ford, and Adam Anderson) are of opinion that the Duke of Bucciesdk is not si-arranted in erecting a port at Granton, so as to interfere war the rights of the port of Leith ; and they recommend that an occlusal dee/orator should be raised against him. On the motion of Treace Black, the documents were remitted to the Provost's Committee, wilds power to confer with the Trustees before any further proceedings shall take place.—Courier. [ Should the Duke of Buccleuch'a claim he set aside, the Trinity Harbour Bill may be carried next session, after all.]
