Arrangements are in progress for calling a public meeting of

the electors of the borough of Finsbury, to protest against time attempt of the Government to violate the constitutiooal rights of Lower Canada. 'f hus, while our rulers, who ought to see and reflect on the poltentous consequences of the threatened attack, are rushing headlong into the course of denger, the conantei people, from yvhom we had no right to expect political foresight, are preparing measures to cheek them, and preserve the country from difficulty and disgrace. Most creditable to the electors of Finsbury is the lead they are taking on this occasion.
