The Quota System On Tuesday the Heads of the Delegations

to the Imperial Conference referred the wheat Quota to an informal Committee, and the same day this Committee agreed that it was feasible. This evidently is a hopeful line of inquiry, for it is well known that the Quota has already been accepted by the Government. The alacrity of the Heads of Delegations in tackling the wheat Quota is explained in part by the state of the Canadian wheat market. The Canadian Wheat Pool has already advanced 60 cents a bushel to the growers, and the market price of wheat is now as low as 67i. That leaves a very small margin for paying for storage and meeting the other costs of the Pool and still providing a profit. * * * *
