At the Princess's, Kiss Cushman has shown herself to be
as sprightly in comedy as she is energetic in tragedy. Her performance of Rosalind, in As You Like It, is delightful for its freshness and natural vivacity. The male costume becomes her; and she wears it with graceful ease and Modest confidence; she looks a "curled darling" of the court. -She rallies Or- lando with the playful gayety of a quick-witted and fond-hearted woman, piqued by her lover's dulness to punish while she fascinates him. The earnestness, abandon, and intelligence of Miss Cushman's acting, are the secret of her success.
