Falkland Parkway
Sir: I'm glad that Mr Simon Courtauld (Diary, 9 January), has brought the busi- ness of British Rail adding 'Parkway' to some of its stations on the Western Region to the attention of the Spectator read- ership. This too has happened at South- ampton. What used to be Southampton (Eastleigh Airport) is now Southampton Parkway, thus giving the impression that Eastleigh Airport has closed down. I noticed this the last time I was in the UK and it caused me great confusion because I wasn't sure where to leave the train. It is one thing for British Rail to be 'getting there', if only they would tell the public where 'there' is.
