RARE EPITAPHS.

[TO THE Eiii.im OF THE " SPECTATOR."

SIR,—Having many years ago cullei quaint epitaphs in Ilfra- combe Churchyard, 1 wonder at my not having met with that sent you by Mr. Morris, on the authority of Mr. Mann, particu- larly as I had otten heard it quoted as from a very different source.

With a slight variation, the lines occur iu Dibdin's celebrated pantomime of MAL.; Goose, wherein G imaldi (I think), as Squire Bugle, used to sing :—

" First wife's dead ;

There let her lie ; She's at rest, And so am I."
