Vicars, Ulster King-of-Arms (Kelly's Directories, 21s. net), appears for the seventy-seventh time. The first edition, which was edited by Edmund Lodge, Norroy King-of-Arms, bears the date of 1827, so that the work has really completed its eightieth year. In 1902 the work of the late Joseph Foster was incorporated with Lodge's, and the combination may certainly claim a high place in respect of completeness and accuracy. It is not easy to appreciate the labour spent on the genealogical detail, —a specially valuable and interesting part of the volume.
