The Transit of the Red Dragon. By Eden Phillpotts. (J.
W. Arrowsmith. 3s. 6d.)—Mr. Eden Phillpotts dedicates his book of stories to "the Human Boy," who will doubtless enjoy them. But why will not this author, who can be when he chooses a master of humour, give us some more stories not dedicated to "the Human Boy," but about him? Of Mr. Eden Phillpotts's previous volume of delightful stories of boy life we can say with absolute truth that we hear "they want more,"—the " they " being all parents and lovers of children who are worth counting. Of the present book it remains to be said that the best adventures are in the second story, which gives its name to the little collection.
