A New Competition

LIFE'S LITTLE MISERIES.

THAT we like to read of other people's sufferings is a common- place. That we like it all the more when the sufferers are ordinary men like ourselves, whose sufferings we can understand and appreciate, is even more true. In this week's Spectator we have published an article on " Life's Little Miseries," quoting certain specific miseries from well-known books. We offer for our new competition a prize of five guineas for the most frank and spontaneous expression, written legibly on a post card, of three of life's little miseries. The competition will close on October 11th.
