Rarssia, inflamed by the murder of the Russian Consul, M. Rostkovskv. almost compels the authorities to act; and the Government, besides demanding the execution of the murderers, has, with the approval of Austria, formulated "other demands," to which the Sultan has given uncon- ditional submission. The supplementary demands, communi- cated orally on Wednesday, are said to insist on further administrative reforms in Macedonia, the immediate appoint- ment of European officers to command the gendarmerie, the reprimanding of Hilmi Pasha, the Inspector-General of Macedonia, and further inquiries into the circumstances which led to the murder of M. Rostkovsky.
