A Chaff° and Windus Miscellany 1928 (Chatto.and Windus, 2s. 6d.)

is at once irritating and delightful. It ja.,irritating because it is full of snippets from novels by Miss Rosamund Leluriann, Mr. Norman Douglas, Mr. Aldous Huxley and others, whose novels should, of course, be read in full. It is delightful because it contains poems by Miss Sylsia Townsend Warner, Mr. W. J. Turner, Mr. E. V. Kilo's, Mr. Harold Monro, and because of an exquisite little fairy story by Mr. Richard Hughes.
