Novum Testamentum Grace. Edited by F. H. A. Scrivener, D.C.L.
(Deighton and Co., Cambridge.)—Dr. Scrivener published the first edition of this revision of Stephen's text in 1859, the second in 1876, and now sends out, with the assistance of Mr. W. F. N. Shilleto, third. The interval has been marked by the appearance of the work of Messrs. Weetcott and Hort, a work which does not meet with Dr. Scrivener's approval. " Legibus Lachmannianis ab initio misere emancipati, ad metam adhuc a veritate remotiorem quam ipse Lachmannne tandem progress', splendidum peccatum, non aria., els 8,1 in lucem emiserunt." The difference between authorities who van claim so much respect is a subject beyond the scope of these column. " Non nostrum tantas componere lites."
