From Brazil, for example, comes the proposal to establish an international leprosy research centre under the auspices of the League, and a Brazilian philanthropist has offered an annual contribution of 22,000 towards the expenses of such an institution. The State of Sao Paulo has decided' to • appoint a serologist to be nominated by the League Health Committee for researches into the diagnosis of syphilis. In the Argentine it is desired to establish an infant welfare centre, again under the auspices of the League, and Chile, as a result of a visit arranged by the League Health Com- mittee from a distinguished Japanese authority on nutrition, Professor Saiki, has decided to bring from Tokyo one of Professor SaikPs assistants to spend two years in the Central Health Department at Santiago.
