The Independent Fire Insurance Company is amongst the new companies

of the week. The proposed capital is one million, in 40,000 shares of 251. each, the calls not to exceed 11. per share, at intervals of not less than three months. The Directors calculate that three-fourths of the insurable property in the kingdom is altogether unprotected, and that an ample field is therefore open for their operations.
