chief BASILI0 seems to be the great terror of the Royalists. Re plunders the country in all directions, and appears in districts where he is least expected, at the head of a half armed body of desperadoes, whom defeat only disperses for a few days. Valencia is described as being in a " critical state ;" so are Murcia, Extre- madura, and La Mancha. The conclusion of the war is, apparently, a blessing not to be expected for a long time to come.
