What appears to iiave happened outside Warsaw is described in
Friday's telegram to the Times from Petrograd. The Germans tried a great flanking movement, but, instead, were themselves outflanked. It was here that prisoners are reported to have been taken in great numbers. In the centre, where the Germans had also made an advance in force, and had actually crossed the Vistula. at Janow, the Russian success was hardly less notable. The Germans, though .their army remains intact, were completely defeated.
