No Cause for Alarm It was with something of the

trepidation of a maiden aunt who knows her favourite nephew is having his first encounter with a demi-mondaine that I tuned into the opening instalment of Journey Into Space, the BBC's new science-fiction serial. It was bound to happen sooner or later, of course, but after dear Mrs. Dale and those nice Archers might not there be a certain lowering of the tone ? All that violence, and those dreadful space-rats, and the blonde girls who so often semi to travel in the rockets. . . I need not have worried.. The author (Mr. Charles Chilton, who also writes " Riders of the Range ") began his long drama in a style of which G. A. Henty would have approved, and the whole thing—so far—is no more objectionable, and only a little bit noisier, than when they had that rough Barton boy to stay in Portland Place.
