Within the last fortnight, insurances to the extent of half

a million have been effected at Lloyd's on sovereigns shipped by steam-vessels to Dublin for the Bank of Ireland. The orders for bullion intended to be sent to the Continent have been generally withdrawn ; and the foreign exchanges have rather improved.
