While progress is being made with the provision of houses
in urban districts, innumerable difficulties are causing delays in rural areas. Prices arc apt to be high when distances for transporting materials and labour arc long. Rural District COuncils are proverbially slow, and possibly more cautious than their urban colleagues. The supply of water and other necessary services is usually difficult in the country. For these and other reasons the present Government are now giving special attention to this aspect of the housing problem.
