It is stated that Dr. Newman has been appointed Rector, and Dr. Leahy of Thurles Vice-Rector, of the New Roman Catholic University ; and that professorial chairs have been given to Dr. Hollinger of Munich, Dr. Browning, an American, and Fkrence ItUCarthy, poet.
Mr. Henry Baldwin Chief Commissioner of the Dublin hisolvent Court, died early on Wednesday morning, of apoplexy.
The cholera at Belfast has remained stationary for the last three weeks. Since the disease broke out, 43 out of 152 persons attacked have died ; and 44 out of 85 in the Union Hospital.
