Outclassed

Sir: In his article (Another voice, 14 Octo- ber) Auberon Waugh commented on the `frisson of hatred' caused by the loud upper-class voice heard 'in every train'.

Just imagine the level of hatred there would be in this country if every time those of us educated at schools such as Harrow took similar offence, whenever we heard a loud lower-class voice in the street, in a supermarket, on a bus, even in a train.
