READABLE NOVELS.—Marcus Hay. By Stanley Portal Hyatt. (A. Constable and

Co. 6s.)—A story of adventure in East Africa, in which native prisoners and City promoters figure. Father Roche and Marcus Hay's Basuto follower are both excellent studies.—The Diamond Ship. By Max Pemberton. (Cassell and Co. 6s.)—A tale full of exciting adventure, but a little hard to follow.—The Little Anarchist. By Arthur W. Marchmont. (Ward, Lock, and Co. 6s.)—A vigorous tale of revolutionary Russia. The conclusion seems not very well contrived.
