The Triumphs of the Printing Press. By Walter Jerrold. (R.T.S.)—There
is nothing new in this volume, nor indeed is it to be expected that there should be. Mr. Jerrold gives a useful resume of what is known about the early printers and their work, traces a portion of the later history of the art, and finally gives some particulars of its present working. The last chapter is given to machines of recent invention for the economising of labour in composing.
