NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY.

An official lecturer has now been appointed on the same principle as at the other galleries. Lectures will be delivered every week- day except Saturday. The first lecture, each day at 2.15 p.m., is adapted for the young, and the second, at 3.15 p.m., for adults. A programme of the current week's subjects is posted at the entrance. The lectures are rather on the persons represented than on the value of the portraits aesthetically, although this aspect will not be overlooked.
