Famous for 11 inches

From Mr Christopher Wilson Sir: Little wonder that Susan Crosland made her excuses and left when confronted by Porfirio Rubirosa (Letters, 21 October). I have it on no less an authority than his third wife that the point at issue between them, and the source of Rubi's place in his- tory, was 11 inches. I wonder if Mrs Crosland still has nightmares.

Satyriasis is a dreadful affliction and no doubt if he were alive today the old goat would be able to claim disability benefit. Meanwhile, I am engaged in writing his biography, and if other readers have Rubi anecdotes they would like to share, I should be delighted to hear from them.
