On the 17th February, of bronchitis, after a short illness, T. K. Hervey, Esq., aged sixty, for many years editor of the Athenwum. On the 19th, at Freetield, Gen. Sir Alexander Leith, K.C.B., of Freefield, and Glenkindie, Aberdeenshire, in his eighty-fifth year. On the 23d, at Darlington, the Yen. R. H. Froude, Archdeacon of Totnese, in his eighty-ninth year.

On the 25th, at his residence, Grove Lodge, Regent's Park, Francis Smedley, Esq., High Bailiff of Westminster, aged sixty-seven.

Cin the 25th, at Dresden, the Rev. William Chanter, late Minister of the Episcopal Church, Rue d'Aguesseau, Paris, aged fifty-nine. On the 25th, at Dover, in her eighty-fourth year Elizabeth Lady Mends, relict of the late Commodore Sir Robert Mends, R.N.
