The new Chancery Judge is Mr. Edward Fry, Q.C.—now Sir
Edward Fry,—and no better appointment could have been made. Mr. Fry is a very accomplished lawyer in the literary and theoretical sense, as well as a barrister of very large experience and skill in equity cases, and it is only fair to say that his appointment is not in any sense due to party sympathies. He is, we believe, a Liberal in politics, and chosen, therefore, for no other reason than the great additional strength he will bring to the ranks of Conveyancing and Equity lawyers in the High Court of Justice.
