The municipal elections which took place on Tuesday have resulted
in 72 gains for the Liberals, 4.3 for the Unionists, 35 for Labour and the Socialists, and 8 for the Independents. These figures must be regarded as only approximate, owing to the defective analysis of the returns. We regret to say, however, that the net result of the elections shows that the Unionists have lost ground.
