Field work for the Spectator Cam- bridge poll was carried

out by the Harris Research Centre between 30 May and 1 June. Interviews were conducted with 832 voters in the Cambridge city consti- tuency. Of these 49 per cent are male, 51 per cent female; 22 per cent are aged, 18-24, 36 per cent are 25-44, 21 per cent are between 45 and retirement age and 21 per cent are pensioners; 50 per cent of the sample are owner occupiers, 28 per cent live in council rented prop- erties and 22 per cent in privately rented accommodation. Car owners make up 57 per cent. Of the sample, 54 per cent ended their formal education at the age of 16 or less; of the remainder only 12 per cent are currently students.
