THE SWEDISH NAME ALMANACK.

(To THE EDITOR Or TRIO " SPECTATOR.") SIE,—During a recent visit to Sweden I became acquainted with the Swedish name almanack, which differs from English almanacks in giving besides the usual information a Christian name for each sex for every day of the year. I learnt that the names set forth have to receive the approval of the King. The object aimed at is to secure a greater choice of names for parents and to avoid the endless repetition, as in our country, of a dozen or so names. Of course, no one is obliged to select any name in the almana,ck. I believe that a similar name almanack is issued under Royal authority in one of the German States. I wish that some enterprising publisher will issue, with or without Royal authority, a name almanack in
