An air raid by the Allies on Karlernhe, the capital
of Baden, took place on Monday. No less than twenty-three aviators—some British and some French—joined in the attack, which was directed on the forts, the railway station, the munition factories, and the headquarters of the Military Governor of the town. The aviators were unable to state the damage done by them, but neutrals arriving in Switzerland and Holland say that over two hundred people were killed, and that shell factories and part of the railway station were destroyed.
