[To THE EDI/OR OF THE " SPECTATOV1 SIR,—Your reviewer, in his kindly notice of my book, states that I am "a follower of Ouida..' " This remark has been made by reviewers before, and I am tempted at last to reply. I read " Strathmore " very many years ago, and remember nothing of it. I fancy I have also read "Two Little Wooden Shoes," but am rather hazy about it. If I can be properly described as the assiduous disciple of a writer of whom I know so little, it is very carious.—I am, Sir, &e.,
