"The Campaign against Rats," in the Spectator of January 18th, you remark :—" A single stoat let loose in a cornrick will clear the rick more safely, more cleanly, and more effectually than half-a-dozen bottles of poison." Has the writer of this otherwise excellent article any conception of the influence of the "single stoat" upon the game-farm ? I am afraid this interesting little animal prefers young pheasants to rats. One cannot blame
