The Working Classes of Leeds. An Essay on the present
state of Education in Leeds. By James Hole. (Simpkin, Marshall, and Co.)— A very well-written little book, giving a great deal of valuable statisti- cal information about the schools and other educational institutes, in a clear and agreeable form. Mr. Hole thinks that the schools are now in advance of the secondary instruction open to the labouring classes, Primary instruction is soon forgotten by children who leave sohool early.
