The advance in Tibet has begun in earnest, and Friday's

news is to the effect that our troops were last Monday only ninety-two miles from Lhasa. On that day we carried the Karo-la Pass with little or no difficulty. This is the highest pass which had to be traversed, and beyond it the road lies fairly open. It is curious to read that in Monday's,fight- ing the Tibetans took refuge in the glacier, and hid behind the ice pillars of the seraca.
