" Clonfert Cathedral. (Canon McLarney, Clonfert.) — The rector of
Clonfert issues an appeal, to which we gladly give such circulation as we can, for help in the restoration of the Cathedral (now the parish church) of Clonfert. This building has suffered much from its early days—there seems to have been a church in Clonfert thirty-nine years before St. Augustine came to England —but it still has some fine features, notably a very elaborate Norman doorway. The rector has done much to restore it, but wants further help,-2600 to pay off debt already incurred, and £1,400 to complete the restoration.
