The Unpublished Legends of Virgil. Collected by Charles Godfrey Leland.

(Elliot Stock. 6s.)—Virgil appears in these legends in his well-known character of a magician, benevolent, with a taste for harmless fun. Some of the stories are variants of well- known folk-lore tales. And, we will take leave to say, some had better have remained unpublished. Altogether the book, which indicates much research and painstaking on the part of Mr. Leland, would have been the better for a little revision.
