The influence of the Irish vote is felt even in

Canada. The Parliament of Ottawa, which represents the whole Dominion, has, with the consent of Sir J. Macdonald and the Ministry, carried a resolution for an address to the Crown, praying that " a form of self-government should be granted to Ireland similar to that enjoyed by Canada." That would mean the government of Ireland as a free colony, with all questions of foreign policy left to Great Britain, with a veto on legislation reserved to the Colonial Office, and with no Irish Representatives in the British Parliament. That is not the plan the Irish Extremists are patting forward, and we doubt if they will be entirely grateful to their kinsmen in Canada for modifying their own request in that fashion.
