Sin,—May I add to Mr. C. R. Haines's letter in last week's Spectator and say I was taught by the late Dean Plumptre that "the sun standing still" of Joshua was simply a quota- tion from a war-song of the time, and not intended to refer to any astronomical phenomenon P —I am, Sir, &c., MEMOR.
