The affairs of the East continue nearly as much in

doubt as they were last week. Negotiations have recommenced; the Pasha having in some degree relaxed his fiery bearing. The last accounts represent Admiral STOPFORD ta have been exchangitig civilities with the Pasha at the time we supposed hint to be cutting off his supplies. The Admiral, when pressed by the British merchants to state what course he should adopt it' :Minium:sr A1.1 refused to comply with the ultimatum of the Five Powers, frankly admitted that he had no instructions.
