this ! Basil Fencote suffers by the extravagance of a foolish mother and sisters (who meet with the most summary vengeance at Miss Davis's hands), but recovers himself, thanks to his good sense and indomitable perseverance—and his fats. This is a very pleasing story, if you are not too severely critical of improbabilities.
