Jewish Artisan Life (Unit Library, 7d. net) gives a translation
of a book written by Franz Delitzsch some thirty odd years ago. We need hardly say that it is full of interesting and valuable matter. The order in which various trades and occupations were esteemed, and the position of women, are specially important among the subjects handled by Delitzsch. The greatness of the new departure in the second of these can scarcely be over- estimated.
