OLD PROPHECIES.

Sin,—The prophecy anent the destiny of the Turkish Empire appeared in Notes and Queries for August 5, 1854. A corre- spondent communicated it as an extract from the Bristol Mirror, wherein it was stated to have been taken "from an old volume of predictions written in the fifteenth century, and now in the possession of a gentleman residing at Chard, Somerset." The Mirror, although urged to be more explicit, did not, as far as I am aware, ever gratify the curiosity of Notes and Queries'
